River snake
30x50 (75x125 cm)
mixed media using cloth, enamel, aluminum foil, and oil paint on canvas and wood
4500
The raised portion of the piece, created with aluminum foil sculpture, "snakes" through each of the canvases in the triptych. It is attached to a wood substrate to create the sculptural presentation. I have been experimenting with this kind of foil sculpture and love the feeling of a long continuous line that runs through the whole piece. The colors used are a combination of blues and greens that create a very satisfying water like feeling. Like some of my other paintings, the viewer seems to be under the water looking up at the light playing on the surface.
