Paintings by Angela Kathleen Stout
The most common questions I am asked in Art shows around the country...
"How did you make that?" It's a cloth process that I use to create the sculpture like texture then I paint on that as the canvas.
"How did you come up with this idea?" I saw a highly textured, plaster abstract in a local art museum and fell in love. When I went back to my studio there wasn't plaster but there was a curtain project in progress. I decided to glue the fabric to a board to see what happened.
"Can I touch it?" My work is a textile encounter. On this website they are 2 dimensional photos but in person, they are a 3 dimensional experience. I often supply an example piece for people to touch and explore the texture for themselves.
"That's Unique" "Extraordinary" "Unusual" "Out-of-the-Box" "I've never seen anything like it"
