20x40 inches (50x100 cm)
Mixed media using cloth, enamel, and oil and spray paint on wood
2200
My inspiration, which happens quite often, came entirely from the fabric. I was fascinated by the inherent texture that added so much to this piece. It dominates the structure and creates these interesting branching lines and adds a level of deep complexity to the organic shapes that formed. Many of the values of blue in the background reminded me of looking through the trees at the sky and this effect gives it its atmospheric name.
